Fairy Hill sits higher on the site, so the view does most of the talking — the lough and the coast laid out below, the Mournes on the skyline, and a dark sky worth staying up for on clear nights.
Inside it is the same warm, furnished canvas: a comfortable made-up double bed, soft lighting, electricity and its own wood pellet stove.

- A fully stocked kitchen with a fridge, gas ring, gas BBQ and charcoal BBQ, with a covered space for cooking and eating outside.

- Its own private lawn with seating, held in by stone walls and lit along the edges after dark, with its own covered cooking shelter.

- Carlingford village, the deserted village a short stroll away and walking trails on the doorstep. The ferry crossing is about 5 minutes by car, though the service is not running at present.

Fairy Hill is marked by a hand-painted slate sign among the stones, with a lit grass path leading up between the walls.

The view
Up here, you see a long way
From the top of Fairy Hill the land drops away in fields and stone walls towards the coast, and on a clear day the sky seems to take up most of the picture.
It is the kind of view you keep checking, just to see what it is doing now.
Your own lawn
Two chairs, a small table and the Mournes
Your lawn is yours alone — a pair of chairs set out on the grass, stone walls built by hand around the edge, and the mountains sitting on the horizon.
Bring a coffee out first thing, or a glass later on. Nobody is passing through.
Cooking outside
A shelter of old timber, strung with lights
The cooking shelter is built from weathered wood and stone, with the fridge, gas ring and barbecues all under cover — so dinner goes ahead whatever the sky decides.
As the light goes, the little bulbs along the roof come on and it becomes the warmest corner of the evening.
The kitchen
Everything on the shelves, ready when you are
Pans, plates, mugs, a kettle and a cafetière are all set out on a timber dresser, with a brick barbecue and a proper sink beside it.
Turn round from the washing-up and the fields run all the way down to the coast.
Inside
A proper bed, soft light and somewhere to curl up
Inside the canvas there is a made-up double bed, towels laid out for you, soft seating and a woven rug underfoot.
Bedsheets and towels are supplied — all you need to bring is yourself, your food and your drink.
The doorway
Open the canvas and the coast is right there
Tie back the door on a bright morning and the view is framed for you — stone walls, green fields and the sea on the horizon.
Most mornings start here, before anyone has said a word.
The evening
From the bed, the sun goes down over the lough
Leave the door open in the evening and the whole sky is framed in the canvas — the water catching the last of the light, a single bulb hanging in the doorway.
